[ August 10, 2008; 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. ] This Sunday, August 10, hundreds of mountain bikers will participate in the Black Bear 40K Mountain Bike Race at Kanawha State Forest. Experts start the full 40K course at 11:00; All other classes of riders (Sport=30K, Beginner=20K) start at noon.
[ August 9, 2008; 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. ] This past Tuesday, the WV Music Hall of Fame announced it’s 2008 class of inductees-a varied lot indeed-and one of it’s honorees is coming to Charleston this weekend. The undisputed king of Bluegrass and Country harmonica, Charlie McCoy performs this Saturday, August 9, at Coonskin Park’s Schoenbaum Stadium.
