They’re coming from Winnipeg, Canada; New York; Austin, Texas; LA; Decatur, Georgia; and Huntington, West Virginia. They’re coming to compete and to sing their music for you. They are the finalists of the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest, sponsored by the Folk Alliance.
The finalists will perform Saturday October 11, 7:30pm, at Cultural Center Theater in Charleston.
The winner selected that night will then perform on the next day’s Mountain Stage show, along with Patty Loveless, Solas, The Dan Tyminski Band, and Chris Knight.
Tickets are $10 in advance ($12 at the door) for the Saturday night show; or you can go to both shows for $15 with a two-day pass (that deal is only available online). Individual tickets are available online or at Taylor Books.
