[INTERVIEW] 10 Questions With Flare Baroshi

flare
1) Is Flare Baroshi one person or many people.
Flare Baroshi is one person. Me. :) But I do work together with friends and fellow musicians from time-to-time.
2) Who are your musical influences?
Hm. Jeeze. There are so many. I guess I’ll give you some of my top influences. In no particular order:
1. Emilie Autumn
2. Within Temptation
3. Evanescence
4. Celtic Woman
5. Linkin Park
6. Breaking Benjamin
7. Tarja Turunen
8. Basshunter
9. Mediaeval Baebes
10. Lovers Ball
11. Smile.dk
12. E Nomine
13. Disturbed
14. Nightwish
Also, my musical influences may vary. Often times, it depends on my mood, and it depends on the current song I’m working on too.
3) How do you compose and perform your music?
In the beginning I composed my music with the help of Charleston’s own, Mark Scarpelli. He and some friends of mine helped me put together and record my earlier songs, (Mother Earth, Realization, My Secret Passage, etc.) then later, after I got myself an iMac computer, I discovered GarageBand. With the help of that wonderful program, and my computer’s built-in-mic, I began composing and putting together my songs alone. The first song I wrote and recorded with GarageBand was “Dark Change”.
4) Will Flare Baroshi ever perform live?
Someday, but I don’t think so anytime soon. You never know though! ;)

5) “Vampire Mafia” is a great video. Who’s idea was it, and how long
did it take to write and shoot?
The idea to make the video was, hands down, Rudy Panucci of Radio Free Charleston. After he threw the idea at me, we began to collaborate, and from there we became partners in the making of the video. Putting our heads together, we came up with a simple yet effective story line about an outsider, female vampire who seeks to take the reigns of the powerful Vampire Mafia. To shoot the video, it took a total of three days within one week. And then editing and collaborating back-and-forth with Rudy for about one week.
6) Will you be making anymore videos soon?
Well, I definitely plan to make more videos, but right now, as to when that will be, is up in the air. Rudy and I have already been talking about making another video, perhaps in January or February, but that’s not for certain yet. I also plan to make one on my own, but I don’t know when that will be.
7) How can people find out more about Flare Baroshi?
You can visit my Music Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/flarebaroshimusic
and you can follow me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/flarebaroshi
And if you’d like to directly contact me, you can always email me at flarebaroshimusic@gmail.com
8) Do you have a website?
No. I don’t have my own website. I just have a myspace, a youtube, a facebook, and a twitter. But I hope to have my own website at some point.
9) How can people buy your music?
At this time, no one. I’m not selling my music yet. Right now, I’m just experimenting with different types of music (mostly trance/electric) and seeing what I can do and create, but I’m hoping to be selling my music very soon.
10) What’s in the future for Flare Baroshi?
Good question! I’m not even sure I know right now. I know I want to continue creating music, but other than that, I’m not sure. I enjoy filmmaking as much as writing music, so hopefully more short films and possibly a feature are in the cards for me. I also love to write. I’ve been writing a children’s novel since I was eleven, but I haven’t been able to get it to the point where I’d send it off to a publisher, and I’m also, deep down, a hardcore theater kid. So with all this on top of my music, and then college next year, anything could happen!
