The third round of Kanawha County Public Library’s Book Brawl starts today pitting such classic titles as “Pride and Prejudice” vs. “Gone with the Wind” and “The Grapes of Wrath” vs. “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
The second round of voting ended Sunday, Dec. 6, with several surprising upsets. Losing out were F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby,” Pearl S. Buck’s “The Good Earth” and Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women,” among others.
New pairings have been posted on KCPL’s website. Vote online at http://www.kanawhalibrary.org/ each week, as we gradually eliminate the losers until the last book emerges victorious.
Each week, voting begins at noon on Monday and concludes at midnight on Sunday. The weekly winners are posted on Monday afternoon. The ultimate champion will be announced January 4, 2010.
