The 7th annual Mothman Festival has been scheduled for the weekend of September 20th and 21st in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. In addition, the festival’s first ever Miss Mothman pageant has been scheduled for the two evenings prior to festival kickoff.

This celebration of West Virginia’s famous cryptid will include Mothman witnesses, special guest speakers, a power lifting contest, karaoke, wayward Ghostbusters, hayrides, live music and vendors. There will also be a costume contest for those who want to get their goth on (or moth on, in this case).

At the confluence of the beautiful Kanawha and Ohio rivers, Point Pleasant’s historic downtown area is rich with charm and character. A short and scenic drive from Charleston, Point Pleasant’s Mothman festival is a day trip that is uniquely West Virginia and offers something for everyone… believer, or not.
